Popis: | Syncope of personnel standing in ranks during a military ceremony is an all too common occurrence. An episode of syncope can have serious and sometimes long-lasting medical consequences in addition to disrupting the ceremony and causing embarrassment for the individual involved. This article will discuss the pathophysiology and contributing factors, common injuries which can result, immediate on-scene treatment, and recommendations as to how this phenomenon might be prevented. |
