Popis: The complexity around the decision maker (DM) and intrinsic vagueness in human conscious generate difficulties in expressing judgments when they should use crisp measures. Several fuzzy set extensions have been introduced by different researchers in order to ease this decision-making process. DEMATEL is a Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method aiming to reveal potential casual dependencies among the problem’s attribute set by paying attention to the evaluation of decision-makers’ judgments. It offers a practical way to determine the cause and effect relationship between attributes. In this study, a novel Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS) extension of DEMATEL has been developed to unveil the interrelations among decision attributes that should be thought of in a decision problem. PFS extension of DEMATEL was carried out as multi-step approach that entire extension has been completed in 9 proposed steps. The vagueness and hesitancy of the decision makers are tried to be modelled via this newly developed fuzzy extension of DEMATEL. It has enabled more flexibility to decision-makers, especially in expressing their opinions. It was also seen that defuzzification takes place at the very end of the method. The present outputs offer application potential for real life case studies such as exposing the relationship of antivirus mask selection attributes or polar clothing selection attributes.
