Popis:	The chrysomelid cassidine tribe Basiprionotinicomprises eight genera and 93 species, distributedin the Old World (Borowiec 1994; Borowiec & wi toja ska2007).Onlyninespecies,allarboreal,have thus far been recorded from host plants inthe families Bignoniaceae, Hamamelidaceae,Meliaceae and Verbenaceae (Ghate & Rane 2002;Borowiec & wi toja ska 2007).
