Parents, realizing the importance of good beginnings, want their children’s kindergarten experience to be as positive and successful as possible. It is natural, therefore, for them to wonder whether their youngsters are ready. World Book, Inc., conducted a survey to help identify what kinds of early learning experiences, skills, and knowledge kindergarten teachers felt kids needed to be prepared for school. They received over 3,000 responses, which they used to help formulate their Early World of Learning Program. The 105 desirable readiness skills that were identified are listed below.* |
