Popis: | The purpose of this chapter is to give an overview of optical studies on metallic nanoalloys and to show how and to what extent they can provide information about their chemical arrangement (composition, spatial distribution) and can probe chemical reactions through structural or compositional modifications. First, we focus on bimetallic nanoparticles (2–10 nm in diameter), mainly discussing studies performed on systems elaborated by physical preparation. They may be composed of either two noble metals that present a surface plasmon resonance, or composed of a noble metal with a transition metal that does not induce any plasmonic behavior. Secondly, we discuss the case of bimetallic clusters ( |
