Social anxiety is related to attenuated daily positive experiences (Kashdan, 2007). Dampened positive affect may be a central feature and maintenance factor of social anxiety disorder (SAD; Kashdan et al., 2011) and is found to precede the development of other co-occurring disorders such as depression (Li et al., 2017; Raes et al., 2012). In this study, we will investigate the daily patterns of positive affect in individuals with varying levels of social anxiety symptoms (Study 1) and SAD (Studies 2 and 2). Specifically, we will examine daily average positive affect, positive affect instability, positive affect inertia, and positive affect variability. |
