Popis: | Laser refrigeration of rare-earth doped optically levitated nanoparticles allows for cooling of 42 K. Cooling is calibrated using a cryostat. Cooling efficiency decreases at pressures below 5 mbar as thermal contact with gas molecules decreases. |
