in the soil samples collected for this study, the mineral composition present was identified using x-ray diffraction (XRD). The method used to identify the minerals was an automated search/match. From the results obtained from this method, all the peaks related to silica in the samples correspond to the silica in the database, while the calcite did not appear in the automated search.
