Molecular nature of reversible and irreversible strain in flexible chain polymers

Popis:	General strain at various strain ratios of a PE film was separated into the highly elastic and plastic components. By means of polarization IR spectroscopy, the accumulated fraction of highly elastic strain was found to correlate with the conformational structure and the degree of orientation of macromolecular chains, and the accumulated fraction of plastic strain-with the concentration of molecular breaks in the sample.
