DE ROOY: Cosmic Illusions is now, I think, about thirteen years old. It started in Curacao when I was teaching art at the art school there. The idea was to bring the theatre into the academy, which was not part of its regular curriculum. So from that group of people and from that idea, it really evolved. The second production of Cosmic Illusions is where Norman came in. He joined the company and, from that year on, we've been working together on this multicultural foundation for the arts in the broadest aspect of this word, like exhibitions, visual arts, the theater, film, dance, publication of books, what else ... did I forget something? Oh, music also. And our aims really are to show, or give expression to, these different forms of art that have come out of the mixtures of cultures all over the world.
