Popis: Amis This study aimed to uncover the changes in yield components, Cu accumulation and translocation of wheats in response to Cu pollution under nighttime warming. Methods Pot trials were adopted with two level of ambient temperature (no-warming (NT) and warming (WT)) and two level of soil Cu content (control check without Cu application (CK) and 100 mg/kg Cu application (Cu)). Canopy temperature, biomass, yield components, Cu content, accumulation and translocation factors of wheats, available Cu content and enzyme activities in soil were determined throughout the wheat growth period. Results Warming effect of passive nighttime warming system was prominent and average increment was 0.28°C. The highest yield was achieved in NT-Cu by many more spikes per pot and grains per spike, but the Cu content in its grains could present a potential risk to food security. Though Nighttime warming didn’t increase the total biomass and yield of wheats, soil urease and catalase activities, it decreased Cu accumulation of wheats grown in Cu-contaminated soil, especially in grains. Moreover, warming treatments increased the Cu content in the roots and glumes, reduced the content in grains. Among them, Cu content of grains in WT-Cu was the lowest and significantly lower than other applications. Conclusions Our findings reveal that nighttime warming has the potential to weaken the Cu risk of grains in wheats grown in Cu-contaminated soil.
