Design of a Fuzzy Logic Controller Based on Genetic Algorithm for Controlling Dissolved Oxygen in Wasted-Water Treatment System Using Activated Sludge Method

Popis: This paper proposes a strategy to control the dissolved oxygen (DO) in the wasted-water system processed by the activated sludge method (ASM). The controller is designed by using the fuzzy logic approach in combination with the genetic algorithm. The performance of the control system is illustrated and verified by the simulation results in which the control strategies are implemented in the Benchmark Model (BSM1). The proposed method is also compared with the classical PI controller. The results show that the output impurities of the wasted water are in an allowed range and the quality indexes of the controller are improved and the operating cost functions of the system are lower.
