The role of medical coders in hybridization of physicians

Popis:	The purpose of this article is to explore the role of medical coders in hybridization of physicians in a French public hospital. This study, based on fifteen interviews and forty days of observations, shows that medical coders sensitize healthcare professionals to acquiere accountability logic by coding their medical activity. We found that by this process, medical coders support the infiltration of financial logics into the medical sphere. Key words: accountability, hospital, hybridization
