Structure of the oriented poly-bis-trifluoroethoxyphosphazene at various temperatures

Popis: Structural changes occuring in phase transitions of uniaxially oriented poly-bis-trifluoroethoxyphosphazene (PFP) films and extrudates have been investigated by means of X-ray analysis. Changes in structural parameters during the transition of two possible crystalline modifications to the mesophase, and then to the isotropic melt, were observed. The proposed model of polymer structure in the mesomorphic state is based on an assumption that in this state a layered type of packing is realized. This resembles one of the crystalline types, though the character of ordering along each of the three dimensions differs.
