One process of developing academic museum exhibitions is a specific strategy of interdisciplinary inquiry learning between museum curators and faculty. This research explores the co-development of exhibitions at the Goldstein Museum of Design at the University of Minnesota, specifically the goals of the co-curation learning experience and the process impact on faculty guest curators. Interdisciplinarity occurs as guest curators find that they are able to investigate museum exhibitions as a communication method, that the museum field can support their research and teaching and, that integrating objects and research are complementary methods for wider exploration of ideas. |
