Popis: | Adolescent Blount's disease, also known as late-onset tibia vara, is a multi-factorial developmental disorder of the proximal tibia resulting in three-dimensional deformity of the lower extremity. Surgical correction requires detailed surgical planning to identify and address each contributing aspect of the deformity. The goal of treatment should be to correct the deformity (restore the joint line and mechanical axis), improve function, and decrease the risk of premature joint degeneration. In this paper, the authors discuss pre-operative considerations and planning for this patient population, review treatment options and present their surgical technique with a representative case. |
