Three mononuclear copper complexes of 9-hydroxy-9H-fluorene-9-carboxylic acid, [Cu(C14H9O3)2(C5H5N)2]·2CH3OH (I), [Cu(C14H9O3)2(C2H5OH)(H2O)]·C2H5OH·CH3OH (II) and [Cu(C14H9O3)2(C6H16N2)]·C2H5OH (III), were synthesized and characterized by IR and Raman spectra. Complex I was also characterized by X-ray diffraction. The main vibration frequencies in the free 9-hydroxy-9H-fluorene-9-carboxylic acid and the three title complexes have been assigned. The COO antisymmetric and symmetric frequencies of the α-hydroxylated acid complexes were identified in the regions 1630–1605 and 1365–1340 cm−1, respectively. The frequency shift of hydrogen bonds in the title complexes is discussed. The copper atom in title complex I is octahedrally coordinated by four oxygen atoms and two nitrogen atoms. The molecules of title complex I are connected through hydrogen bonds, resulting in an infinite chain. The coincidence between spectra and structural characters has been discussed. |
