Popis: Research and theoretical speculations concerning the human link as one source of vulnerability in military communication systems are highlighted. The following factors were concerned: (1) Characteristics of the message, including amount of information and readability; (2) The physical environment, with specific reference to noise, atmospheric and thermal conditions, and stress including isolation and confinement; and (3) Characteristics of the human operator including sensory, perceptual and intellectual capacities; vigilance and susceptibility to fatigue; training and memory; social, motivational and personality factors; and psychopathology.
