Popis: The electrochemical oxidation of substituted malonic acid half-esters was studied in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid. Some 'crossed' Kolbe products were obtained together with some unsaturated carboalkoxy compounds, trifluoromethylated adducts to the double bond, and trifluoromethylated dimers.The electrolysis of trifluoroacetic acid in the presence of olefinic carboalkoxy compounds was also studied.
