Popis: | Multiple drug resistance has developed due to the indiscriminate use of commercial antimicrobial drugs commonly used in the treatment of infectious diseases. In addition to this problem, antibiotics are sometimes associated with adverse effects on the host including hypersensitivity, immune suppression and allergic reaction. In order to overcome the current lacuna in the treatment of infectious diseases potential antimicrobial agents are in crucial need, therefore a Series of 3-(5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-6-fluoro cinnolin-4-ol were synthesized from 4-hydroxy-6-fluoro cinnoline-3-carbohydrazide. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR. All the compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity against various pathogenic microbes. Synthesised compounds displayed very good antibacterial and antifungal activity remaining compounds showed moderate to good activity. |
