Popis: Samples in the shape of large blocks of aluminum alloy AA5356 were produced by the electron-beam wire-feed additive manufacturing. The macrostructure of samples was investigated by the optical microscopy method. It was found that the samples contain a lot of pores. Defects are formed in part of the samples caused by rapid solidification in the sample during the layer deposition. Part of the samples have defects in the form of large discontinuities, which in some cases lead to a disturbance of the sample macrostructure and the division of the sample upper part into separate fragments.
