Popis: The results of the homogeneous high-pressure (10-100 atm) oxidation of ethane to ethanol are reported. The products identified and analysed were ethanol, methanol, acetaldehyde, methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and water. The highest value of the ratio ethanol/methanol in the products was 6, obtained at the highest pressure studied (100 atm). A mechanism is proposed to account for the products
