Radio technologies are driven by a never-ending quest for capacity and thus high throughput, associated with a constant need to improve the quality of the transmission. Thus, the massive MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology has been found to be a powerful system to optimize the trade-off between energy and spectral efficiency in fifth generation (5G) cellular networks. In this work, we analyse the trade-off between energy efficiency and spectral efficiency for massive MIMO in wireless communication networks in relation to the power allocationproblem. Also authors normalize the energy and spectral efficiency to make them comparable and convert the MOO problem into a single object optimization (SOO) problem by the weighted product scalarization method. Finally, the objective function of this SOO problem, i.e. the energy and spectral efficiency trade-off metric which characterised, is quasi-concave with the emission power and we obtain a unique globally optimal solution. The numerical results attest to the performance of the proposed method. |
