Popis: | By using Mn-54 with ion-exchange technique, we have determined the formation constants of manganous complexes of 20 organic acids at pH 7.2 to 7.3, u = 0.16. The effect of - OH. double bonds, configuration, and chelate ring size on complex stability is brought out by comparison of the formation constants of the 20 acids. Uranium-233 was used with ion-exchange and solvent-extraction methods for the study of uranyl complexes of bioxalate, glycolate, and serine. Cobalt-60 complexes of four organic acids were studied by ion-exchange and solvent-extraction techniques. Several of the complexes also have been studied by pH method. An important assumption in the use of ionexchange method for complex study is that the complex itself is not taken up by the cation exchanger. This has been demonstrated experimentally for the first time for some metal complexes by means of acetate labeled with tritium and with C/sup 14/. (auth) |
