Summary We report two cases of mycobacterial abdominal aortic aneurisms, one of them due to Mycobacterium xenopi. The first case occures in a 65 year old patient. The mycobacterial origin may be asserted by anatomo-pathological examination and eradication by a specific treatment. The second case is diagnosed in 61 year old patient, who had a sus-diaphragmatic Hodgkin's disease discovered and treated in 1978. M. xenopi has been found in a node sample included in the aortic aneurism wall. The two cases are cured by resection of the aneurism and positioning of aorto-aortic prosthesis, and by isoniazid-rifampicin-pyrazinamid-ethambutol treatment in the first case, and by ofloxacin-clarithromycin-clofazimine treatment in the second case. |
