The current stage of the Russian secondary and higher vocational education shows the change in a methodological approach which includes not only purely technology in education or technology of education but technology for education, as well. The approach should be provided with a full set of methods and training practices that are bound to develop students’ mental abilities. That is based on the principles giving a systematic vision on what conditions of intellectual development students have and how qualities of mathematical thinking are formed for their professional activities and life in the information society. So, the article discusses the necessity and possibility of how to use virtual digital environments while solving unconventional mathematical problems. It also compares a few ways of solution to the Bertrand paradox problem by traditional visual methods and by using a MathKit virtual environment. The interactive modeling platforms encourage students to get holistic knowledge on the subject. |
