The textbook discusses the features of the operation of mining and transport machines in open-pit mining in a cold climate zone, highlights previously unexplored problems of operation of this type of equipment, and describes methods for determining the operational reliability of equipment. The proposed methods of operation are based on the analysis of a significant amount of statistical material on failures of equipment operating at large mining enterprises of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The influence of low temperatures on the reliability indicators and technical and economic results of the operation of mining and transport machines was determined quantitatively and qualitatively. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation.
