In the present work the enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs function were obtained from calorimetric results, for the bulk polymerization of hexanal in the temperature range from 0 to 330 K at a pressure of p = 101,325 kPa. The physical transitions of hexanal between 11 and 340 K and polyhexanal from 5 to 340 K were studied in a vacuum adiabatic calorimeter, and the corresponding thermodynamic parameters of the monomer and the polymer were determined. From the results obtained the thermodynamic functions of hexanal and polyhexanal were calculated in the range from 0 to 340 K. In a differential automatic microcalorimeter the enthalpy of depolymerization of polyhexanal in acetic acid to the initial monomer was directly measured. The ceiling temperatures of the transition processes of the liquid monomer into the crystalline and highelasticity polymer were estimated. |
