Popis:	In order to assess the performance of array processing algorithms in NDE, a scattering model has been developed to simulate ultrasonic reflection and diffraction at crack-like defects. The model is based on linear systems theory and the scattering object is considered to be an ensemble of planar facets. Results are presented to illustrate the ability of the model to simulate images generated via the synthetic aperture focussing technique.
