Popis: | Thirteen patients (20 eyes) were diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and subsequently underwent an optic nerve sheath decompression. In addition to improvement in visual function, an ultrasound examination demonstrated a significant change in the size of the optic nerve immediately posterior to the globe post-operatively. The posterior nerve measurements did not significantly change. These findings are useful in determining the possible mechanisms involved in optic nerve decompression. |
