Popis:	1. The photoelectron spectra of seven methyl-substituted 1,3-dioxanes have been recorded and identified. 2. Empirical parameters have been found which characterize the magnitude of the inductive effect and the hyperconjugation between theσC-C bonds of the substituents and the ne− and na+ orbitals. 3. INDO quantum mechanical calculations have been carried out on the investigated compounds and qualitatively reproduce the pattern of the changes in the ionization potentials in the spectra.
