Photographic Effects of Electron and Positive Hole Traps in AgBrl Core-shell Emulsion

Popis: Microwave photoconductivity and photographic response were investigated at room temperature on five core emulsions and five silver iodobromide core-shell emulsions with different combinations of internal and surface sensitizations. Reduction sensitization of the core emulsions at milder reduction conditions increased both the surface and the internal speed, and the additional increase of reduction-sensitized centres to these emulsions showed an elongation of the photoelectron lifetime. Whereas the strong digestion conditions decreased the internal speed of the emulsions and caused a decrease of the photo-electron lifetime. The core-shell emulsions with only internal reduction-sensitization showed only an increased internal photographic response. The emulsions with both internal reduction sensitization and surface sul-phur-plus-gold sensitization showed a significant increase of both the surface and internal photo-graphic response.It is suggested that the reduction specks formed at the milder diges...
