Popis: | Telechelic polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) were modified by divinyl ethers to yield reactive surfactants that can be polymerised together with conventional monomers by cationic photopolymerisation. A series of these tailor-made functional polymers was incorporated into expoxide/vinyl ether formulations. PDMS additives effectively improved the wetting properties of these formulations applied to various substrates. Contact angle measurements showed a significant reduction in the surface energy for cured coatings containing the silicone additive. The presence of the reactive PDMS (0.25 – 5 wt-%) was also shown to impart stain-resistance properties. Long-term anti-graffiti effects were studied in comparison with reference formulations. An ESCA (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis) study revealed the high silicone density in the top layer of the coating. |
