The MIT Mathlets constitute a collection of interactive JavaScript visualizations. They have been used in lecture and homework at MIT since 2002. Beginning in 2015, many of them have been integrated into several MITx courses, for both MOOC and residential use. We will describe these tools, how they have been modified and extended for integration into an online environment, and the student reaction to them. We also offer a simple model accounting for the distribution of learner persistence. |
