In this study the influence of driving resistances on the energy consumption of electric vehicles is analysed. Therefore, the different driving resistances are considered, as well as power losses within the high-voltage-system of the vehicle. These influencing factors are implemented into a simulation model to identify the over- and underconsumption values, significantly dependent on the weight of the vehicle. The simulation is performed using parameters of modern production vehicles, as well as a fictional vehicle from the year 2030, that features improvements in aerodynamics, weight and the rolling resistance, which are expected to become reality in 2030. This research shows that the trend will move towards more efficient vehicles in order to reduce energy consumption and increase the range of future vehicles. |
