Popis: 1. A method is proposed for the production of long, high-porosity tubes from nonspherical stainless steel powders. 2. A study was made of the mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties of porous stainless steel. From the point of view of permeability, specimens made by die extrusion are approximately equivalent to those made by sintering freely-poured atomized powder. 3. A method is proposed for the evaluation of the corrosion resistance of porous materials in corrosive media. 4. It is shown that, when operating in dust-laden streams, porous stainless steel secures a high degree of purification and lends itself to stable regeneration by reverse blowing. A method is proposed for assessing the interval between reverse blowing operations. 5. Potential fields of application of porous stainless steel made from reduced nonspherical powders are discussed.
