Popis: | The aim of the study was to evaluate selected aspects of the ability to maintain body balance in young adults and to analyze the potential impact of selected variables on the stabilometric indicators. 44 students of physiotherapy were included. The group was characterized by an questionnaire performed twice, a few days apart. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to assess compliance. The compliance of the results for individual responses was calculated at the level of ICC >0.90 at least. The postural stability was assessed using stabilographic posturograph with computer software. There were no significant differences between the Romberg index and the age of the respondents, the frequency of physical activity, and gender. Significant differences were found between the length of the AP path in the sagittal plane with the eyes open and closed. People from 20 to 28 years of age have good postural control in statics. The length of the path in the sagittal plane has been significantly extended after turning off the visual controlling. With the exclusion of visual controlling, the remaining analyzed values of posturographic parameters slightly increase, which proves a good posture stability among students. Demographic factors such as gender and age do not differentiate Romberg’s index among people aged 20–28. The level of physical activity does not have a significant impact on the student’s ability to maintain body balance. |
