Popis: A theoretical interpretation is suggested in order to explain the inward propagation of luminous fronts when a powerful laser beam is focused on solid deuterium ice. This model is based on the propagation of a shock wave followed by a laser flux driven deflagration. Calculations have been made and compared with experimental results.
