Popis: We have developed a direct overwriting system using light intensity modulation on a 5.25-inch triple-layer disk with a capacity of 650 MB. The system has a magnet assembly which can provide the initializing magnetic field effectively without affecting the 2D actuator even when used in the conventional ISO cartridge. The system confirms the byte error rate as low as 5 X 10 -5 at the inner area of the disk, which is equal to the typical error rate of a conventional ISO system.
