Popis:	Reaction of sterically hindered bis(imidoyl)chlorides of oxalic acid with picolylamine afforded conformationally locked oxalic acid-derived amidines with pendant pyridine functionalities. Based on this new multivalent ligand system, dimetallic complexes were efficiently prepared.
