Popis: Blepharoplasty has traditionally been one of the most common aesthetic procedures performed and remains so today. Blepharoplasty is performed by a variety of surgeons with different training levels of experience including plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, cosmetic surgeons, and dermatologists. Although relatively straightforward, complications ranging from mild skin blemishes to vision-threatening emergencies can arise postoperatively. Many of these complications can be prevented with careful preoperative evaluation and proper surgical technique. When complications do arise, their significance can be diminished by appropriate treatment and/or referral consultation when necessary.
