Popis: | Many studies in the last decade have been dedicated to the use of the handwriting as a feature in the human identification, opening the door to consider it as a biometric identifier. In this paper we provide an evaluation of the handwriting as a potential biometric identifier according to a standard framework. Firstly, we present the required conditions for a human characteristic to be considered as a biometric identifier. We also provide a generic biometric system, detailing all its various components, and the two associated modes in which it can operate: Identification and Verification. In the second part of this paper we evaluate and discuss the validity of the handwriting as biometric identifier based on the framework we defined. |
