Popis: The oscillating planar solid microelectrode developed previously (1) has been used to investigate the reduction of the ions Co2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Cu+, Ag+, as well as of the redox system Fe2+/Fe3+ in solvent melts containing various amounts of CsCl and AlCl3.Similarly, the reductions of the ions Co2+, Ni2+, and Cd2+ as well as Zr4+ have been investigated in solvent melts containing various amounts of CsCl and ZnCl2.Well-defined limiting currents have been obtained in all systems. These were found to vary linearly with the concentration of the solute. From the slopes of Evs. log (iL − i), or log i/(iL − i), the electrode reactions were established in most cases. The analysis of the results for Zr4+ indicates a three step reduction process.
