Popis: | The purpose of this research was to develop a finger hover-sensing dial pad using a 3×4 transparent capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) array with 12 different resonant frequencies. The CMUT array was designed with 12 different membrane diameters generating ultrasonic frequencies ranging from 0.83MHz to 1.63MHz. The CMUT is made of polymer-based materials and transparent electrodes and provides good transmittance. Use of the hover-sensing controls does not cause the user's view to be obstructed by the fingers as occurs with touch screens, making this technology valuable in wrist-type wearable electronics applications. |
