Popis:	The number of macrophages, their functional activity, and ultrastructure are studied in bronchoalveolar lavage of rats exposed to traumatic or burn shock. It is found that the intensity of nonspecific, stereotypic, and phase macrophagal reactions correlates with the severity of shock. Responses to damaging factors and adaptive alterations varying in the intensity and occurrence at different observation periods are revealed.
