Popis: | Analysis of the standard method for measuring Hardgrove grindability indices has led to the conclusion that a valid figure for reproducibility cannot be established without further definition of the calibration process. Ignoring any possible systematic differences between laboratories, and considering only the inherent uncertainties in the calibration line as at present defined, the minimum reproducibility that can be expected from the current procedure is 5 units. The value of 3 units quoted in the standard cannot, therefore, be justified. A realistic value for reproducibility can be established only by analysis of data from a properly planned inter-laboratory trial, and as far as we are aware, such data have not yet been published. |
