Popis: This paper describes and compares various types of double layer rotor winding connections for non-salient pole machines, with a particular application to sine-wave generators. Design coefficients are obtained by a mathematical analysis of the derived equations for the rotor m.m.f. Five specific types of connections, the V, Y, X, U, and W types, are discussed, as well as the general case. The new types advocated are seen to be superior to the old, giving a greater output for a given maximum temperature.
