Popis:	The effects of earthquake ground motion on transmission lines are analyzed. It is shown that structures may be treated as rigid for design calculations with conservative results and that the forces due to structure acceleration are very minor. The forces on supports of insulator strings and conductors are well within structure capability when designed in conformance with National Electrical Safety Code.
