Polysaccharides and their derivatives have found extensive applications as polymer supports, particularly in biochemistry. Use of the galactomannan, guaran, is a relatively recent addition to the polysaccharides that are already well-established for these applications. This review describes the work in the authors' laboratories for over the past eight years on the applications of guaran and its derivatives as polymeric support materials and chromatographic media. |
