Structural and thermodynamic characteristics of dilute solutions of alcohols in aprotic solvents

Popis: The enthalpies of H-bonds in ethanol and isopropanol complexes with aprotic solvents, extractants of aromatic hydrocarbons, were determined. The thermodynamic functions of viscous flow activation and the mean degrees of association in dilute solutions of the alcohols in N-methylpyrrolidone, dimethylsulfoxide, and tetramethylenesulfone were obtained. The roles played by the energy and steric effects in the solution of alcohols in the solvents were estimated.
